Di tragico quanto la recente scomparsa dei sei soldati per mano di un attentatore suicida, c'è stata solamente la reazione di molti politici e media italiani che hanno immediatamente cominciato a chiedere il ritiro delle truppe. Questi signori stanno involontariamente incoraggiando la determinazione e l’estremismo degli insorti che combattono conto la presenza internazionale in Afganistan.

Just as tragic as the recent deaths of Italian soldiers in Kabul at the hands of a suicide bomber, was the reaction by many in Italy’s political and media establishment who immediately began calling for the withdrawal of Italian troops.  Unwittingly, they only embolden the determination and radical agenda of the insurgents who seek to remove the international presence in Afghanistan and restore their tyranny and oppression which lasted from 1996 to 2001.

The resignation of Prime Minister Romano Prodi and the continuing uncertainty dominating Italy 's political and economic landscape underscore Italy 's fundamental need for electoral and structural reform and greater deregulation. The necessity to boost competitiveness and growth is indispensable to the nation's future.

A quasi sei anni dall’abbattimento del regime dei talebani, il futuro dell’Afghanistan è ancora molto incerto. La comunità internazionale deve comunque restare per rassicurare la popolazione civile.
